100 yards away there is the India Cottage restaurant which is open 7 days a week until 11pm. The Virginia Ash pub is 100 yards away which serves food at lunchtimes and evenings. The Bird In Hand pub is about 1/4 a mile away. 1/2 a mile away in the heart of the village is a shop which is open ‘til late every evening. 1 mile away in Stalbridge there is a Chinese take away.

Things to see and do

Wincanton racecourcse is around 15 minutes away and have race meet ings throughout the jump season. Longleat Safari Park is less than half an hour away. Stourhead gardens are around 10 miles away. Wookey Hole caves and the old cheesemaking town of Cheddar are about an hour away by car. Fleet Air Arm Museum is in Yeovilton, about 20 miles away. They have an air show which usually takes place on the first Saturday of July.

We are situated on the A30 in Henstridge, Somerset.

By road
We are 7 miles south of Wincanton (A303),12 miles east of Yeovil and 9 miles West of Shaftesbury. If coming from the west, once you past the Henstridge sign, we are on the right just over the hump back bridge. Or, at the traffic lights, take the A30 to Shaftesbury, we are 200 yards down the hill on the left through the black gates.

By rail
Templecombe railway station is 1 1/2 miles north of Henstridge. A taxi service can then bring you to Bridge House.
